T1, Corning Strike Deal for Fully US-Made Solar Panels

T1 Energy and Corning have agreed to build a fully domestic solar supply chain, from polysilicon to finished panels, in a move to meet growing U.S. demand for American-made components.

Corning will supply solar wafers from its Michigan facility starting in 2026 to T1’s upcoming Texas cell plant. The cells will be assembled into panels at T1’s Dallas-area factory.

The partnership expands an existing polysilicon supply agreement and aligns with rules under President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which limits tax credits for projects using equipment from “foreign entities of concern,” including China.

The companies said the project will support 6,000 U.S. jobs and bolster domestic energy security. China currently dominates the global solar wafer market.
