Mattel the toymaker has formed a partnership with OpenAI to develop AI-powered toys which will debut as their first product during the current year.

The company behind Barbie and Hot Wheels plans to add suitable AI technology to its toys and games which will maintain privacy and safety standards. Mattel uses this initiative to update its product range because consumer demand has weakened because of President Trump’s unpredictable trade policies.

The company plans to use OpenAI enterprise tools to boost operational efficiency throughout its entire business structure. OpenAI COO Brad Lightcap stated that Mattel now possesses an advanced collection of AI capabilities through their partnership.

The company aims to reduce declining toy sales through content-based ventures which include movie production and mobile game development. The company withdrew its annual forecast while implementing price increases on specific products to combat rising supply chain expenses.

The toy industry uses OpenAI collaboration to demonstrate its adoption of advanced technologies which help companies connect with consumers in a competitive and changing market.
